Well there I was, sat on a bench looking right out over Morecambe Bay, waiting for a train to trundle along the lines which run over the bridge, when suddenly....
... along came a group of people talking really loudly, well whats a blogger to do but listen, turns out the the wooden posts you can see in the pic below (on the right) were a swimming pool, and they knew an "old chap" who used to swim there every day of the year!

Just to the right there is the end of Ulverston canal, a pub (The Bay Horse) and lots and lots of other benches. It is also long the path of the Cumbria Coastal Way.
This bench has seen better days, but its rustic charm and the fact there are no missing slats makes up for this. Some of the fixings are a bit loose so if you like a steady place to put your can of coke down this is probably not for you.
BenchMark: 3.4, lovely views across Morecambe Bay however it is a bit wobbly. If they bring back the swimming pool I will see you in there... right?!
